Summer Reading
Students returning from last year or accepted Before August 1, 2026 must complete the regular Summer Reading assignment listed below.

Summer Reading expectations for students accepted after August 1, 2026
Students accepted after August 1, 2025 will be expected to read the alternate fiction selection for their grade and do the project assignment. Students in grades 10-12 will also read the alternate non-fiction article for their grade and will have a timed write in class. (Grade nine is exempt from the non-fiction reading requirement; it will be done in class and be teacher-directed.)

PLEASE NOTE
- All students, regardless of when they have been accepted, will do a project for their fiction piece.
- All projects are due the first week of classes.
- Grade 10-12 CP students and all Grade 9 students will complete the non-fiction reading in class and complete an in-class timed written essay during the first two weeks of school.
- Grade 10-12 Honors students will read a non-fiction piece independently over the summer and complete an in-class timed written essay during the first two weeks of school.
